Cambridge University Press is the university press of the University of Cambridge. It was granted a royal charter by King Henry VIII in 1534, making it the world's first university press and the oldest one. In August 2021, Cambridge University Press merged with Cambridge Assessment to form Cambridge University Press & Assessment, with the approval of Queen Elizabeth II.

Among the authors who have published with Cambridge are John Milton, William Harvey, Isaac Newton, Bertrand Russell, and Stephen Hawking.

Cambridge University Press has expressed its support for a sustainable transition to open access. It offers various publishing options under the name Cambridge Open, which enables authors to comply with the Gold and Green open access requirements set by major research funders. It publishes journals and books under the Gold Open Access model and collaborates with publishing partners, such as scientific societies, to promote open access across different communities. Furthermore, it supports Green Open Access (also known as Green Archiving) in its journals and monographs, allowing authors to deposit content in institutional and discipline-specific repositories.
