Interlibrary loan is a service provided by the library to its users.
This service is responsible for providing users with those documents they need for their research, but which are not available through the library's collections, or are not in open access. To do this, the library checks if the document is in another library, and thanks to agreements we have between both institutions, we ask them for this document.
Once the request has been received, the other institution checks if it has the material and sends it to us physically or electronically (preferably electronically).
Master's and doctoral students, teachers and associated staff may use this service.
There is a limit of 5 articles per day, if this number is exceeded, it will be requested to indicate which articles have priority over the others.
Articles will always be sent to the user in electronic format.
Books will be available for consultation in the library itself. A specific book chapter can be requested and will be provided in digital format. If it is an electronic book, it will depend on the license itself, so it is possible that the request may be denied.
Do I have to register somewhere?
No, you do not need to register.
How long will it take to receive my document?
Between two and three days, in exceptional cases you may receive it the same day. If the document is difficult to find, it may take up to 10 days, but we will keep you informed of the process.
Where will I receive the document?
At the e-mail address you indicate in the form (it can be your personal or work e-mail address, or the one you usually check). If it is a physical book, you can consult it in the library, we will send you an email when it arrives.
Is this service free?
It is not a free service, although its cost is assumed by the University and is not passed on to the user. Hence the need to request only those documents that are really essential.
What data do you need from the document?
As much as you can provide. As an example, the data needed to make references in APA format would be ideal, here is a reminder of these. But if you do not have all this information, do not despair, we will do our best to find that document.
