Welcome. What do you need to know?

Your library is a resource centre for learning, research and university life. It is much more than a place to study, you will find a large collection of printed and digital resources accessible through the bibliographic catalogue 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and you will also find facilities with spaces for learning, concentrating and working in groups.


With this guide we would like to inform you about the basic aspects you should know about the library in order to take advantage of the resources and services available to facilitate your learning process and academic development.

You have flexible, versatile spaces for shared and individual use, as well as equipment that responds to the need to consult, create and transform information.

 

Access. University card Why do you need it?

To borrow a book from the Library, check if it is available through our bibliographic catalogue, if it is, you can take it from the shelf and bring it to the counter where you will show your student card.

If it is not available, you can reserve it and we will notify you by email when you have it.

 

You can borrow between 10 and 15 copies at a time depending on your profile, have it on loan for 7 days and renew it up to 10 times, through your email. The loan times may vary depending on the type of item, as you can find 7-day, 15-day, 3-day or in-room consultation items in the collection.


If you need an item you can't find, please ask the librarian.

 

From the catalogue you can access digital content specialised in your area of knowledge.


Multidisciplinary, specialised databases and search engines: these allow you to search for articles from academic journals or other types of documents by a specific topic. In many cases, you can also read the full content.


Collections of electronic journals: specialised in the different areas of study at the University.

Access and consultation of e-books: an e-book is the electronic version of a book that can be viewed on a computer or a special reader.


In order to access these online resources you will need to identify yourself with your file number and password that you use for the rest of the resources of the Universidad Europea.


We have a specialised Information Service Area where we can help you with the different digital resources and with your searches in specialised information resources.


If you cannot come to the library in person, book an appointment for a meeting with specialised library staff.

What can I do in the Library?

The library offers you flexible and versatile shared-use spaces.

You can access one of the group rooms in the library by making a reservation.

Surely, at some point, you have had the need to search for information and documentation on a specific topic, to develop an activity or to complete your knowledge on a subject.

The CRAI Library staff will help and guide you in this search, showing you the bibliographic collections in printed and digital format, how to find, access and use them.

Remember, if you can't come to the library in person, you can arrange a meeting with specialised library staff. 

The School of Life project is developed by the Student Experience Unit of the Vice-Rectorate for Students and University Life of the European University.

It is an extracurricular training offer aimed at developing in students the skills most in demand by companies through an interactive and attractive format.


In the academic year 2021/2022 more than 2000 students have been impacted by the labs (interactive contents in virtual campus) and workshops (interactive sessions with an expert).


If you want to acquire new knowledge divided into itineraries, such as creativity, personal skills, employability, diversity, sustainability, among others, you can sign up for one of the courses we offer here.

Bibliographic citation managers: these are programmes that compile references from databases, catalogues, or websites, store them and organise them by keywords, authors, titles, etc. These programmes allow the management of bibliographic information in a simple way for the elaboration of works, projects, reports and the publication of articles.
